About the Program

Advancing Media Literacy for New Digital Arrivals in Indonesia (AML) is a multi-year activity that seeks to improve media literacy in the country especially among new digital arrivals through a targeted digital media campaign. AML is a consortium of partners composed of four organizations, led by the University of Notre Dame (UND), with IREX driving the development as well as the implementation of online media literacy campaigns.   

Position Summary 

IREX seeks a qualified media and information integrity expert consultant from March 2024 to August 2024.  Consultant will complete all projects remotely (work from home). 

IREX seeks a consultant to assist with contextualization and training  of IREX Learn to Discern media literacy content for influencers or key opinion leaders (KOLs). Tasks include: 

• Review, translate, and contextualize topic briefs intended for consumption by KOLs in Indonesia that will use the briefs to inform the creative and educational direction of their social media video content  

• Digital media development, including feedback on video editing and captioning, graphic design, social media content creation and management, and online resource development. 

• Facilitate and lead workshops/support calls with influencers to train them on media literacy principles and ensure video creation follows IREX standards 

• Oversee and provide provisional approval of social media video scripts and posts prepared by KOLs   

• Upon request and if available consulting days remain within the period of performance, review, translate, or provide contextualization support to additional materials, as needed  

Skills and Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or comparable experience 

• Strong writing and editing skillset 

• Demonstrated understanding of evolving information and media landscape in Indonesia 

• Experience engaging social media influencers 

• Experience in video creation and editing, social media content creation, and graphic design preferred 

• Experience organizing and/or facilitating training activities 

• Professional proficiency in Bahasa required 

• Professional proficiency in English required  

• Strong interpersonal skills and experience developing professional relationships
