IREX seeks Multiple Technical Specialists to participate in the upcoming five-year, approximately $30M USAID-funded Civic Engagement Activity in Iraq. The goal of this activity will be to foster a more politically engaged citizenry in Iraq, enhancing trust and participation in the country's democratic processes. This activity seeks to elevate civic literacy, empower citizens to actively engage and contribute to discussions on issues of concern. Equipping citizens with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate effectively in the democratic processes. This includes fostering awareness of governmental processes, promoting access to accurate media content, facilitating increased engagement with government entities at various levels, and empowering citizens to participate in public life.

We are looking for candidates with subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:  

• Civic engagement 
• Civic/Voter Education 
• Information Integrity and Resilience  
• Digital civic spaces 
• Social and Behavior Change Communication
• Youth Development and Engagement
• Women’s social and political empowerment
• Institutional Capacity Strengthening
• Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 

General Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field
• Minimum 6 years of experience with designing and implementing development initiatives in one or more of the areas listed above
• Demonstrated experience managing similarly sized donor-funded programs. USAID experience highly desired
• Experience working with counterparts, stakeholders at various levels of government, the private sector and grassroots in Iraq
• Advanced proficiency in Arabic required. Working-level knowledge of English, desired.
